FAQ's
1. Who can apply for the Visual Arts Scholarship?
All Louisiana high school seniors and college students under 32 may apply for the Visual Arts Scholarship. Please note that college students may not be in their final semester at the time of the application. Applicants from Dutchtown High, Southern University, or the University at Lafayette (ULL) will receive priority consideration.
2. Who can apply for the Behavioral Health Scholarship?
All Louisiana students planning to study in a behavioral health or social justice law major may apply.
3. What documentation is required for submission?
For the Visual Arts Scholarship, applicants must submit original artwork and a statement reflecting the theme (e.g., grief, healing, or joy) of their submission. Students who are interested in applying for the Behavioral Health Scholarship must submit two essays based on the prompts in the application.

6. Is attendance at the Red Tie Scholarship necessary to enter the contest?
​ No, attendance at the Gala is optional; however, winners are required to submit a high-quality video for
the event.
7. When will winners be announced?
​ Winners will be contacted privately approximately 30 days before the Gala. Winners will be also
recognized at the Red Tie Scholarship Gala held at the Baton Rouge Marriott on March 21, 2026.
